Experience


Senior Video Journalist, Telemundo KXTX; Dallas,  Feb 2010 - April 2024

Produce daily news stories for early and late shows. This includes participating in daily editorial meetings, shooting, editing and presenting the stories live for both shows. The other primary duty is to travel domestically and abroad for news coverage for local stations and network. I also prepare training seminars for Telemundo's new VJ's and producers.


Photographer-Editor-Back up Reporter, Telemundo Network News, 2001 - 2008

As a one-man band assumed leadership on international assignments such as War in Iraq and Olympics 2004 by arriving on location days prior to the network's team to establish logistics, served as field producer and filed daily stories. Played a key role in the production of special stories from Mexico during sweeps periods. Managed budgets for self-produced assignments.  On a daily basis contributed to the editorial process in the Los Angeles bureau, shot, edited and served as back up reporter always on record time due to time zone constraints.

Led a news staff of four people and several freelancers on a daily editorial challenge to provide unique stories.  Acted as troubleshooter, managed schedules and served as main correspondent for the show.

Freelance Reporter / KVEA Telemundo Los Angeles,  1994 – 1998

Was successfully able to combine skills on and off camera to provide stories for the local news department in Los Angeles while shooting and editing for the network.  Covered 1994 Soccer World Cup in the United States and accomplished the first international assignment as reporter, photographer and editor (video journalist) in the 1998 Soccer World Cup in France.

Played a key role in the news department as microwave live-shot operator. Strived for uniqueness by shooting and editing daily stories with an edge.


News Photographer – Editor, Washington D.C. Bureau Univision Network, 1989 – 1991

In charge of covering news generated at the White House, Department of State and Pentagon. Developed key contacts and traveled abroad to provide timely coverage of major international affairs like the fall of the Berlin Wall and the fall of communism in Checozlovakia.

Mastered editing system and time management skills to provide quality pieces for 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm shows.

Began with eagerness what would become a fructiferous career as a broadcaster. Performed duties that provided a wide knowledge from engineering to production departments. Became the youngest technical director for SMRTV at the age of 20
